Louis Francis Worland : papers, 1942-1960.

Correspondence, primarily from 1942 to 1945, focusing on Worland's tour of duty as a bombardier-navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Most letters are between Worland and his family. His letters describe the monotony and boredom of military life, China, missing home and family, his Catholic faith, what post-war life will be like and what he wants to do after he returns home. Letters from his family describe life at home, and how they miss Worland and his brothers who are also in the service. The collection also includes Japanese money, Worland's biography and death notice, and newspaper clippings.
